(a)we can distinguish between concave and convex mirrors without touching them. As we know that in a concave mirror the size of the image formed is enlarged and real . And in the convex mirror the size of the image formed is diminished and real .

(b)magnification is positive for virtual images and negative for real images. If the magnification is -1 then image is enlarged.
