a combination is said to be connected in series if there is only one path from one point to another.
In series combination, current (I) remains constant i.e., I = q(charge)/t
so charge also remains same.
On the other hand, a combination is said to be connected in parallel if there is more than two paths from one point to another. In parallel combination, potential remains same.
