How to identify distilled water, acid and base with red litmus?

Explanation:

A red litmus turn blue in basic solution. Test for colour change in litmus paper by dipping in each solution. The solution in which the base is kept will change the colour while the others will not.

Now, keep the basic solution aside and use the blue litmus to test for acid among remaining two. The acidic solution will turn blue litmus red.

The solution which do not change colour of blue litmus is water among the two left and the one which turns blue to red is acid.
