We can identify the age of fossil by two methods:

1. Relative method - in this method we can determine the age of fossils by the dept on which they are buried. If the fossil is near the surface it is new and if it is buried deep within the soil, it is considered older.

2. Radiocarbon method - it is a method to determine the age of the fossil by detecting the organic components such as carbon in it.
