oxidising agent are the substance which is getting reduced

reducing agent are the substance which is ge tting oxidised

eg:

cuo +H2 ===== cu + H2O

here cuo is reduced as removal of oxygen

H2 is oxidized as addition of oxygen

s,H2 is reducing agent

cuo is oxidising agent

pls mark it brainliest

Question:

how to identify oxidising agent and reducing agent with suitable examples?

Answer:

◆ Redox Reaction = The reaction in which one substance added and another is removed.

● Oxidation Reaction = The reaction in which Oxygen is added and hydrogen is removed is called oxidation.

● Reduction Reaction = The reaction in which hydrogen is added and oxygen is removed is called reduction reaction.

● Oxidising Agent = The reaction in which hydrogen is added and oxygen is remove is called oxidising agent.

● Reducing Agent = The reaction in which Oxygen is added and hydrogen is removed is called reducing agent.

Example:

Reaction of Manganese dioxide with hydrochloric acid involves redox reaction.

MnO2 + 4HCl --- MnCl2 + Cl2 + 2H2O

Oxidising agent/reduction = Cl2

Reducing agent/oxidation = MnCl2
