How to identify the hypotenuse adjacent and opposite?

The side opp. to right angle is hypotenuse. The side adjacent to given angle is adjacent side and the side which is not in contact with the given angle is the opp. side.

side opposite to angle= π/2 is hypotenuse.. adjacent means next.. and opposite means.. in front of.. suppose a ∆ ABC right angled at B . Then AC is hypotenuse.. side AB & BC , BC& CA ,AB & AC are adjacent.
