Now, the question is, if English improvement is so important and it is so difficult to go to a centre everyday and get improved, what is the way out? Is there a way one can improve his English speaking skills sitting at home? Is there an effective way to build up ones English skills quickly without spending years after years?

Let’s look at a few options:

a) Home Tutors for English speaking

The idea is attractive – you pay a teacher to come visit you at home and teach you English speaking. It solves a couple of very critical problems as well – the problem of crowd (you are the only student in a home tuition class), and b) the problem of daily commute.

However, home tuition suffers from another very severe limitation. English speaking skills is such a premium skill, anyone who really has them has much bigger and better opportunities than having to go from house to house to teach English. Home tuition may work for Science and Math tuitions for school children but with a premium skill like English speaking, it simple falls flat. The trainers that are willing to come to your home to teach do not themselves possess great English speaking skills and those that do would not be ready to come to your place, or would be so expensive that it would be out of reach for most people.

b) English speaking apps, software, videos and audios

That also seems like a perfectly good idea – download a good English app and keep learning everyday. Unfortunately, that doesn’t work like that. Simply because learning words or hearing recorded voice doesn’t make you fluent in conversation – only practicing conversation does. And you cannot practice English speaking with an app no matter how good it is. Simply because apps and software and videos do not talk back. And they cannot think and adjust their approach like a live teacher. And they cannot hear you speak, find your mistakes and correct you.

And, last but not the least, they cannot motivate you and inspire you like a live teacher can.

c) Live one on one practice on phone at home

Now, picture this.

A classroom of one – you and your trainer. No lecture, only practice. Even grammar concepts taught through speaking practice exercises. A live trainer to hear you speak, correct your mistakes, motivate you when you are down and want to give up, act as a challenger, friend and support.

BodhiSutra English on phone gives you the perfect method to quickly improve your English speaking skills sitting at home. You decide your own class timings, you have a friend, mentor, teacher in your trainer, you have support of a like minded community of learners and trainers ready to help and a dedicated support system to take care of all problems you face.

The fastest method to begin speaking fluently in English and you can take the entire training at home.

d) Find friends to meet and talk daily

Difficult to implement practically but a very effective method – perhaps the only method better than live phone based practice at home is to call friends at home and practice speaking in English with them. If you can continue this for a couple of months, your English speaking skills will improve a lot.
