In Pythagoras theorem, the square of the hypotaneous of the triangle is equal to the sum of the square of its base and perpendicular.
h²= p²+b²

At first draw right angled triangle. The longest one is hypotenuse. Others are sides opposite and adjacent to hypotenuse. And tell hypotenusesquare= adjacent square + opposite square.
