HELLO FRIEND HERE IS UR ANSWER

OXIDATION:- Oxidation is gain of oxygen and loss of hydrogen.

Eg. 2Cu+O2-----> 2CuO

When copper is heated a black color appears.

if this CuO is reacted with hydrogen gas then again Cu becomes brown as reverse reaction take place.

CuO+H2-------> Cu+H2O.

REDUCTION;- Reduction is the loss of oxygen or gain of hydrogen.

Eg. ZnO+ C------> Zn+Co

A reducing agent is that which reduces others and gets oxidized in a reaction.

A oxidising is that which oxidises others and gets reduced in a reaction.

In terms of electron An oxidising agent accepts electrons and a reducing agent that loses electron.

some examples are as
a) Nitrogen is being reduced from an oxidation state of 0 to -3, so it is the oxidizing agent. Hydrogen is being oxidized from an oxidation state of 0 to +1, so it is the reducing agent.
b) Nitrogen is being oxidized from an oxidation state of 0 to +1, so it is the reducing agent. Oxygen is being reduced from an oxidation state of 0 to -2, so it is the oxidizing agent.
