Try putting the word in a sentence. If the word uses 'ki' after it in the sentence, it is feminine. If it uses 'ka', the word is masculine. Or else, it depends on the words before and after it, like the pronouns (sarvanam).
Ex. Darwaza khula hain.
Here, Darwaza is nasculine, since the word after it (khula) ends with 'a' sound.
Ex. Meri kitab kho gayi.
Here, Kitab is feminine since word before it (meri) ends with 'i' sound and is a feminine pronoun.
You will be able to easily identify it when you speak hindi. To explain it in words is a little complex. It will come with experience
