First of all understand your topic and don't just mug up
To know your topic better you can also use flow chart method ..so you can have your own notes. Imagine that it is story and you are it's character witnessing it...it's my method
Don't sit for study in a bad mood it will ruin all your interest from the topic
And most importantly revise each topic with in a week otherwise you will undoubtedly understand it but will not remember it
