I'm a computer student and I want to tell you every thing based on my experience.
If you are not familiar with Java programming then please don't get horrified by the silly people would that it's hard, not possible.. but trust me computer is counted among one of the scoring subjects and all you need to know is the theory which is really very less and talking about programming then it's completely dependent on the basis of it and understand the question. I would suggest that yes, you should practice for your own betterment and if you're new to Java programming then you should try to figure it out as much interesting as possible..
