I would suggest you to take this course "Machine Learning - Stanford University | Coursera" . This course provides a broad introduction to machine learning, deep learning, data mining, neural networks using some useful case studies. Then go for Geoffrey Hinton’s
"Music and Art Courses | Coursera" which tackles more advanced neural networks and theoretical aspects. These two courses will give you a good insight into neural networks.
I would suggest you to take a problem in hand and start applying the concepts learnt so far.
