Hi friend!

You can get many books in libraries for learning Sanskrit. They help you a lot.

There are also many online websites available to learn Sanskrit.
For word translations, the site www.spokensanskrit.com must help you.

For writing and all other things, the internet is at your service, you know.

Once learnt Sanskrit, you would be able to understand the meanings of shlokas like:
अहम्ब्रह्मास्मि, which means 'I am Brahma'.

Some common and simple phrases in Sanskrit are as follows:
सुप्रभातम् - Good morning!
धन्यवादः - Thank you.
क्षम्यताम् - Sorry.
पुनः मिलामः - Meet you later
भवान्/भवति किम् करोति? - What are you doing?
And many more...

Hope you found my answer helpful. Keep Smiling!
