Hi!
In right ΔOAB, BC = 3 and AC = 1
AB2 = BC2 + AC2 (Pythagoras theorem)
= 32 + 12
= 9 +1
AB2 = 10
AB = √10
If BC is taken as any number other than 3, then the value of AB in that case would not be equal to √10.
