How to make class intervals continuous in statistics?

In order to make class intervals continuous, you are supposed to subtract 0.5 from the lower limit and add 0.5 in the upper limit.

36-40
41-45
46-50
51-55
56-60
61-65
66-70
71-75

so the difference between the given range will be the following:

30.5-35.5
35.5-40.5
40.5-45.5
45.5-50.5
50.5-60.5
60.5-65.5
65.5-70.5
70.5-75.5
