Lenses and mirrors made of glass can be a few meters in size. But at that scale they easily break and the expansion/contraction can spoil the focus.
For very large applications, mirrors are better, since it can be purely polished metal. In solar collectors, hundreds of smaller mirrors combine to form a single one.
When very large sizes are needed, Fresnel lenses, even made of plastic, can do a reasonable job if the purpose is to concentrate energy.
