here is the step by step explanation or the precautions or pre - requisites :

Explanation:

1) depends on which colours you use to colour the drawing on canvas !!! (oil paint and acryclic are mostly used not sure that much I personally once used acrylic)

2) apply water with your brush on canvas make it a bit wet a very little and apply with your brush so the colour gets on it !!! ( this trick was suggested by my senior don't know if it will work with you too)

3) draw as usual with pencil the outline and also use pencil very soft handed as we cannot erase the pencil marks fully on canvas !!! so it looks a bit untidy

And go on for your first try after this all precautions all steps are same as always !!!
