The plan is to make a mold of these rocks, then fill said mold with colored resin, an LED, and a battery pack. The bottom of these rocks needs to have a flat area just large enough to fit thisNow that the stones are significantly flatter on one side, the next step is to create the mold. I started by attaching the rocks to a baseplate.
Using a cut up water bottle, I made a wall to enclose the stone.
Tip: Don't use a cut up water bottle to make a wall.
The heat from the hot glue started to warp the plastic, making it more difficult to glue. Ironically, I ended up solving this problem with more hot glue. CR2032 coin cell battery holder, so I used some oil based clay to accomplish this.

To help avoid air bubbles, consistently and slowly pour from a high height at a single spot on the base. Basically the opposite of what I did in the gif above.
After a few hours our mold is set. Take out the rock and clay, and we're left with an empty space exactly the same size, shape, and texture as the rock.
Behold, these beautiful slow motion shots showcasing my lack of skill in soldering.
After buying hundreds of LEDs, I scientifically stared at each one until I found the one that blinded me the most. With my remaining vision I soldered them to the battery pack. The LEDs I used were 1W 300-350mA LEDs, with forward voltage of 2-2.4V
