you just have to make notes of important topic which you can find yourself or you can ask your respected subject teacher.

hey , u can make notes with ur hand XD JK

a. I prefer pencil & paper rather than the computer when making notes in class. Both mediums have its advantages and disadvantages. I however, type faster than what I write and often, this skill leads me merely recording information instead of understanding the information. I have noticed that I only benefited when there is a balance between note-taking and comprehension (not to mention the quick ability to insert drawings, charts, or diagrams on the “fly” to my notes when necessary).

b. Whilst in class I focus on, and rather only note down, answers and supporting information to pre-prepared questions (it helps greatly to do some overview reading before class).

c. Symbols and abbreviations work for me in terms of faster note-taking. I have made up my own “shortcuts” over the years – I suggest you do this as well or google some of the more generic symbols and abbreviations most students use.

d. Colour definitely benefits – I use colour both in my notes and textbooks. Blue highlights questions (or sentences that could be changed into a question for review purposes); Yellow highlights the keywords that answer the questions; and green highlights the keywords that support the answers already marked in yellow (e.g. examples, research details, etc.)

e. The Cornell note-taking system (addressed by Say Keng Lee in a previous Quora answer below) is great. I have however, adopted it slightly – I use the left column only for review questions and not for any other notes or references commonly advised; and I have no summary section. I find the Cornell notes ideal for reviewing purposes - I cover the right-hand side and then try to answer the questions visible in the left-hand column.
