As the temperature of the solvent increases, solubility increases. Additionally, pressure and the nature of the solute and solvent affect solubility. When a solution cannot have solute added and dissolved, thesolution is saturated. A saturated solution is a solution which cannot contain any more dissolved solute, so to prepare a saturated solution of sugar water, you would slowly add sugar and stir until the solution reaches the point at which it cannot dissolve more solute and the sugar you add sinks to the bottom in solid form. This is a now saturated solution.

To make a supersaturated solution, make a saturated solution of sugar by adding 360 grams of sugar to 100ml of water at 80degrees Celsius. When the water cools back down to 25 degrees, that 360grams of sugar will still be dissolved even though the water should only dissolve 210grams of sugar.
