carbon and its compounds is an easy chapter

to name the compounds of double bod hydro crabons the ALKENES

ALK part is got from the no of carbon atoms

1- meth

2-eth

3-prop

4-but

5-pent

6-hex

and the ene part is added to it

ALKENE

ethene

propene

butene

pentene

hexene

get it?

same way we add yne to the number of carbon atoms to get the name of alkynes or triple bonds

alkyne

ethyne

propyne

butyne

pentyne

hexyne

pls thanks and mark as brainliest

Explanation:
Choose the longest continuous chain of carbon atoms, whether or not it contains multiple bonds.

If there is a choice, choose the chain with more multiple bonds.

Number from the end of a chain that is closest to a multiple bond.

If there is a choice, the double bond gets priority.

"Ene" comes before "yne" in the name, no matter what the locants (numbers) are.

Example 1

Consider

H2C=CH-CH2-C≡CH
and
H2C=CH-CH2-C≡CH

The correct name is pent-1-en-4-yne.

Example 2

H1C≡C-3CH=CH-CH3
is pent-3-en-1-yne.

Example 3
Under the "old" IUPAC rules, the above compound would b
3,3-dipropylpent-1-en-4-yne.

Under the "new" rules, the correct IUPAC name is 4-ethenyl-4-ethynylheptane.
