Observation of Dermal Tissue in Rheo Leaf:
The softest portions of the plant are protected by the dermal tissue which is usually a single layer of cells and covers the inner parts. It is a waxy layer known as cuticle which prevents water loss.
There is a guard cell which contains chloroplasts and controls the exchanging of gases in between the leaves and the environment. The cross section of the leaf under a microscope can be placed to vie the thin dermal tissue on the leaf.
