To prepare 1 percent sodium hypochlorite solution.

Definition of Sodium hypocholrite;

Sodium hypochlorite called as bleach and is used as a disinfecting agent.

It is used to kill the viruses, bacteria, fungi, and mycobacterium.

Material required;

  • The amount of sodium Chloride- 10% = 1000ml
  • Water

To make; 1% sodium hypochlorite

Solution;

1000 ÷10× 1% =100 ml

So, the concentration of the sodium hypochlorite is 100 ml.

To find out the amount of water;

(sodium chloride- concentration of sodium hypochlorite) = amount of water

1000-100=900

The total amount of water is 900 ml.

Hence, to make 1% of sodium hypochlorite we need 900ml of water and 100 ml of sodium hypochlorite.
