You need to stress on grammar more and avoid making mistakes in grammar....Refer to full marks books or to any good grammar book....Wren and Martin is really good and helpful.....In comprehensive passages first read it completely and understand it, then see what is the question and search in the passage for the answer and then add your own words and write the answer......You can avoid silly mistakes by reading the question properly and concentrating on only your paper.......
