Explanation:

First work out the molecular mass of the sodium chloride.

Next understand that a 1 M solution contains the molecular mass of that substance per 1,000 ml of solution.

You only need 200 ml of solution so you’ll need 200/1,000 of the amount for 200 ml of 1M solution.

You only need 0.3M solution so you’ll need 0.3 times that amount.

So you’ll need to weigh out:

the molecular mass of sodium chloride x 200/1000 x 0.3 grams

Dissolve that in about 150 ml of water completely then carefully add more water to get exactly 200 ml of solution. You do that because if you add the correct amount of salt to 200ml of water you won’t get exactly 200ml of solution

Molecular weight of Sodium Chloride =58

58g of NaCl dissolved in 1 litre of water gives 1M solution

5.8g of NaCl in 1 litre gives 0.1M solution

17.4g of NaCl in 1 litre gives 0.3M solution

Volume of solution reqd =200ml

Hene 3.48 g dissolved in 200ml of water gives 200ml solution of 0.3M

(If you take molecular weight of Sodium Chloride as 58.5 you will get a more accurate answer)
