The ratios first can be represented as fractions
⇒5:6 = 5/6
⇒3:4 = 3/4
We can convert both these fractions in like fractions
⇒L.C.M of 6 and 4 = 12
⇒5/6 * 2/2 = 10/12
⇒3/4 * 3/3 =  9/12
As 10/12 > 9/12
⇒5/6 > 3/4
∵ Proved

Alternate method
We know 5:6 = 5/6 & 3:4 = 3/4
By Cross-Multiplication
⇒6*3 = 18(Value of 3/4)
⇒5*4 = 20(Value of 5/6)
As 20>18
⇒Value of 5/6 > Value of 3/4
∴5:6 > 3:4
∵Proved

Step-by-step explanation:

firstly, we can write 5:6 as 5/6

we can also write 3:4 as 3/4

then, by taking the l.c.m of both the numbers

which is

3:4=3/4=9/12

5:6=5/6=10/12

so 5:6 is greater
