When reflection takes place, the ray which falls reflects back. Due to this phenomenon, incident ray is equal to reflected ray.

It's good if you prove it
By drawing the diagram, you can show that incident ray is equal to reflected ray. And the angle of incidence is also equal to the angle of reflection.
In the reflection experiment the diagram itself will indicate that incident is equal to reflected ray
