Let g be the acceleration due to gravity of a planet of mass M and radius R. By Newton 's law of motion,the force due to gravity on a body of mass m on its surface will be
F = mg
By Newton ' s gravitational law, it is
F = GMm/R^2
Therfore
mg = GMm/R^2
Therefore mg = GMm/R^2
This may be further simplified to derive the relation between g and G
