A SPACE SHUTTLE HAS 2 SMALL ENGINES THAT HELP IN DECREASING THE VELOCITY. THE SPACE SHUTTLE'S ENGINE FIRE IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION WHICH IS A RETROGRADE BURN. THIS DECREASES THE VELOCITY AND THE SHUTTLE FALLS TO EARTH. THIS PART IS BIT TRICKY!

THE SHUTTLE IS NOW ALMOST LIKE A AEROPLANE THAT COMES AND LANDS AT A RUNAWAY. BUT THE MAIN DIFFERENCE IS THERE ARE HEAT SHIELD AT THE BOTTOM OF THE SHUTTLE THAT PREVENT IT FROM MELTING OR BEING EXPLODED LIKE A METEOR.

WHEN IT LANDS OF THE RUNWAY THE SHUTTLE'S BIG AND STURDY PARACHUTES OPEN UP AND SLOW DOWN THE SHUTTLE  RAPIDLY. THE SHUTTLE IS LANDED/ TOUCHDOWN!!!
