The mixture of sand and sulphur can be separated by this method :-

Dissolve the mixture of sulphur and sand in carbon disulphide.The sulphur is miscible in carbon disulphide but the sand doesn't dissolve in carbon disulphide.

Now the sand can be separated by filtration method.

The mixture of sand and sulphur can be separated by using a solvent carbon disulphide in which the sulphur is soluble.
