first we will separate iron fillings from the mixture.
Now, use the magnet to remove iron fillings. spread the chalk powder, salt and mixture on a flat surface. wrap the magnet in the paper. use the magnet to remove the iron by pulling it across the surface of the mixture. the fillings will stick to the magnet while the chalk and salt will remain. remove paper from the magnet to collect it.
To separate the chalk powder and salt -
- first ,add water to the salt and chalk
- stir until the salt dissloves.
- the chalk will from layer on the top of the water, allowing you to scoop it out with a spoon
- then, let the water evaporate on a hot plate, which will cause the salt to be collected in the container.
