When two liquids are immiscible they are separated using a separating funnel for example water and oil are two immiscible liquids. Take the liquids in a separating funnel. oil is lighter than water so if floats over water and forms upper layer in the separating funnel water being heaviest settles in the lower layer in the separating funnel and is poured into a container when a stop cork is opened upper layer of oil is poured into another container . some common immiscible liquids are mustard oil and water kerosene oil and water.
