To separate a mixture of salt and sugar, we can use the fact that sugars are soluble in alcohols while salts are not.

-So first add alcohol to the mixture.

-We can now filter the mixture to separate the salt.

-Now we can evaporate the mixture of sugar and alcohol to get back our sweet sugar.

-And hence we have separated them both.
