How to seperate iron fillings from sand????

We can use a bar magnet and hover it over the sand and iron fillings. Due to the attractive properties of magnet The iron filling will get stick to the magnet and the sand will be left behind .

We can separate iron fillings from sand by using a magnet.....magnet will attract iron filling from sand.....
Hence both are separated.....
