Aim:-

To show the presence of oxygen in air.

Materials needed:-

Big bowl, water, a candle, a matchbox, a glass.

Method:-

  • Take the candle and place it in a big bowl.
  • Now fill the bowl with some water.
  • Light the candle and cover it with an inverted glass.

Observation:-

The candle keeps burning for some time. After some time, the candle blows out.

Conclusion:-

Oxygen helps in burning. When the oxygen inside the glass is used up, the candle blows out.

➡️ This was the way to show the presence of oxygen in air.

Procedure :

light a candle and make the candle stand on the plate for better comfortablity.now, place the glass tumbler inverted on the burning candle.

observations :

we can see that the candle turns off after sometime. This is because in the closed surface all the oxygen is taken by the candle for burning and when there is no oxygen the candle turns off..

conclusion :

this implies the presence of oxygen in air.
