Given:

OS=3 CM

PQ=8 CM

QR=4 CM

SR=5CM

To find:

Radius of a circle=?

Construction:

Join S and P

Now, SP is perpendicular on PQ

Therefore, <SPQ=90 °... (Tangent theorem)

In triangle, SPQ, <SPQ=90°

By Pythagoras theorem,

(PQ) ²+(PS) ²=(SQ) ²

8²+(PS) ²=9²...... SQ=SR+RQ

64+(PS) ²=81

(PS) ²=81-64

(PS) ²=17

PS=√17

OP=OS+SP

OP=3+√17
