how to solve:-
4x+y=14
x+5y=13

Anonymous: 4x+y=14 ---------------------------1

x+5y=13
x = 13 - 5y ------------------------2

Putting the value of x in 1

4 ( 13 - 5y ) + y = 14

52 - 20y + y = 14

-19y = 14 - 52

-19y = -38
y = -38/-19

y = 2 .

Putting the value of y in 2

x = 13 - 5y
x = 13 - 10

x = 3

4x+y=14 ----1

x+5y=13
x = 13 - 5y --2

Substitute the value of x in equation 1

4 ( 13 - 5y ) + y = 14

52 - 20y + y = 14

-19y = 14 - 52

-19y = -38
y = -38/-19

y = 2 .

Substitute the value of y in equation 2

x = 13 - 5y
x = 13 - 10
x = 3
Therefore value of x=3,y =2
