How to solve a compound is formed by two elements y and z the element z forms ccp and atoms y occupy 1/3 of tetrahedral voids the formula of the compound is?

Explanation:

As we know in CCP crystal

No.of Zatoms =4

No.of tetrahedral voids=2*Z=2*4=8

No.of Y atoms =1/3rd of 8

Therefore, 8/3

Now ,

Z:Y= 4:8/3

After calculating we will get

Z:Y=12:8

In simplest form it will be Z3Y2
