Step-by-step explanation:
An equation with 2 unknowns can't be solved.
Long answer: You can only solve these type of equations when 2 or more than 2 equations are given (by Substitution, Matrices,etc.)
We will solve this by simple substitution (BTW you don't know about Matrices)
Ques.1 : solve for x and y by the given equations: (i) x=2y (ii) 3x+4y =250
Ans- in 3x +4y=250, let's substitute 4y by some multiple of x
Since 1x =2y, let's multiply both sides of this equation by 2, we get
2*1x=2*2y which equals 4y=2x
Now we can substitute 4y with 2x,
3x +2x =250
= 5x = 250 [Combine like terms]
5x/5 = 250/5. [Divide by 5 on both sides]
We get
x = 50
Since we know that x=2y,
50 =2y
= 50/2=2y/2 [Divide by 2 on both sides]
We get
y = 25
Hope it helps◉‿◉
