HeyMate♥,

Lets understand by taking an Example of it...

So, we can take x + y = 5 and 2x - 3y = 4

x + y = 5 ______________(1)

2x - 3y = 4________________(2)

✴We have to multiply eq.(1) by suitable constant to make there coefficients equal.

Multiplying eq.(1) by 2

2(x+y) = 5×2

2x + 2y = 10_____________(3)

✴Then subtract the eq.(3) from eq.(2)

2x - 3y = 4 \\ 2x + 2y = 10 \\         -  -  -  -  -  -   \\  - 5y =  - 6

Then,

-5y = -6

y = 6/5

✴Putting the value of y = 6/5 in eq.(1)

x + y =5

x + 6/5 = 5

x = 5 - 6/5

x = 19/5

Hence, x = 19/5 and y = 6/5
