and,

180-55=y (linear pair of angles)

125=y

y=z (vertiaclly opposite angles)

125=z

in figure (ii)

40=z (vertiaclly opposite angles)

180-z =y (linear pair of angles)

180-40= y

140= y

180-40-25 = x (sum of all of these angles is 180)

115 =x
