\huge\mathfrak{ \underline {Question}}

A village, having a population of 4000 requires 150 litres of water per head each day. It has a tank measuring of 20m×15m×6m. For how many days will the water of this tank last ?

\huge\mathfrak{ \underline {Solution}}

Given

length of the tank =20 metre

breadth of the tank=15 metre

height of the tank=6 metre

now the tank has a shape of cuboid . So, the volume of the tank is,

 \large\boxed{Volume = l \times b \times h}</p><p>

Putting the values

\implies volume =( 20 \times 15 \times 6) \: m {}^{3}  \\  \implies volume =1800 \: m {}^{3}  \\   \implies volume =(1800 \times 1000) \: litres \\  \implies volume =18,00,000 \: litres

now waste of water each day in village is

= (4000 \times 150) \: litres \\  = 6,00,000 \: litres

therefore water in the tank will last

= \frac{1800000}{600000}  \: days \\ = 3 \: days
