K = 4
by cross multiply

Akanksha111: and my dear frnd Diksha ... you wrote 1/2=2/3 which is not true... how could 1/2 be equal to 2/3??? but 1/2 can surely be equal to 2/4..
dikshaverma4you: My dear Akanksha, I know its not equal that's y I took it to clear my point. In this way cross multiplication fails , i.e. the answer will not come like this. And that's y I too added in my comment "3=4 which is not true".... I think it will not be solved like this as in cross multiplication it is either subtracted or added( depending on the signs) , it is not kept equal....
dikshaverma4you: Got it ?
Akanksha111: but the answer given is k=4..
dikshaverma4you: I don't know... How ... I m sorry.... Plzz refer to the Harsh1000, as he has answered.
dikshaverma4you: I think in variable case it is done like cross multiplying and putting it equal. So then k can be equal to 4...
Akanksha111: ok thnkx a lot for your "matha pachi " for me....
dikshaverma4you: Mathapachi.... Heheh... Chill
Akanksha111: :))))
Harsh1000: 2/k = 1/2 we can divide L.H.S. by 2 then L.H.S. = 1/½k after that by comparing denominator get ½k = 2 , Now if we solve the equation we get k = 4
