Let the mid points of classes of grouped data be x1,x2,..........xn

and their respective frequencies be f1,f2,..........fn

Then Standard Deviation s is given by

s2=∑i=ni=1fix2i−(∑i=ni=1fixi)2nn−1

Basically when u talk about mean deviation
it's just the same as the errors u see in measurement
Like Absolute error
The only difference for grouped data is that we r given frequencies so u need to multiply every frequency with its error
Add them up
Divide the whole summation by total frequency
