easiest method Total gained * 100/Total amount
like if i got 482 marks out of 500 then i can calculate percentage by
482*100/500
482/5
95.6..%

percentage the word per means by cent means hundred so when you hear the word percent it means the given number is divided by hundred
for example; 47 % means 47/100
