how to solve the equation a+b=60 and a-b=30

a+b=60 -eq.1

a-b=30 -eq.2

less the eq.2 from eq.1

a+b=60

a-b =30

2b=30

b=15

on putting the value of b in eq.1

a+15=60

a=60-15

a=45

so the answer is a=45 & b =15
