How to solve the equation please tell me the answers ​

Let 1/x and 1/y be a and b respectively

a+b=12......(1)

3a-2b=1.....(2)

Multiplying equation (1) by 2

2a+2b=24.....(3)

3a-2b= 1........(2)

5a = 25

a=25/5

《a = 5》

Substituting a=5 in equation (1).

a+b=12

5+b=12

b=12-5

《b=7》

Resubstituting the values of a and b we get,

1/x= 5 1/y= 7

.:x=1/5 .:y=1/7
