Answer:

11 days

Step-by-step explanation:

Given-

A can complete the whole work in 25 days.

B can complete the whole work in 20 days.

Solution

Let '1' depict the whole work

therefor -

Work done by A in one day = 1/25

Work done by B in one day =1/20

Total work done if they work together for one day = (1/25 + 1/20)

                                                                                  = 9/100

Total work done if they work together for 5 days = 9/20

Amount of work left after 5 days = 1-9/20

                                                      =11/20

It is given that 'A' left the work after 5 days which means rest of the work will be done by 'B' at a pace of 1/20 work done per day.

Total time that B will take to complete the remaining work = (11/20)÷(1/20)

                                                                                                 =11 days

Hence B will take 11 days to complete the remaining work.
