3a + 5b=26....... (1)
a+5b=22......... (2)

Subtracting (2)from (1),we get

3a+5b=26

a+5b=22
- - -
_________

2a=4

a=4/2

a=2

substitutung the value of a =2 in (2),we get.

a+5b=22

5b=22-2

b=20/5

b=4

so. the value of a is 2 and the value of b is 4

Hope This helps

Answer:

3a + 5b = 26; .....(I)

a + 5b = 22 .....(II)

Subtracting (II) from (I)

2a = 4

⇒ a = 2

Putting the value of a = 2 in (II)

5b = 22 - 2 = 20

⇒b = 20/5

=4

Thus, a = 2 and b = 4.
